OVC MIS Technical Backstopping

FACT Zimbabwe maintains the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)- Management Information Systems (MIS) and supports the local OVC Implementing Partners and stakeholders.

Through managing the DHIS2 platform, FACT leads the OVC MIS activity and manages two sub-awardees that support system hosting and development. Since 2020, USAID/Zimbabwe has supported a management information system (MIS) for PEPFAR orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) partners to strengthen OVC case management, support evidence-based programming, and facilitate the aggregation of OVC program data for eventual reporting to PEPFAR and other stakeholders.

The MIS was developed through a collaborative effort that involved all USAID and CDC OVC and sexual violence prevention partners, PEPFAR agencies, and global USAID partner Data. FI. The primary purpose of the OVC MIS is to help OVC IPs routinely collect and use beneficiary data to improve OVC case management, aggregate and analyse data to track performance and inform programmatic decision-making, and to facilitate regular reporting to USAID, PEPFAR, and other OVC sector stakeholders.
