MUTARE- Family AIDS Caring Trust Zimbabwe with support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in conjunction with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprise Development (MoWACSMED).

Gracing the event were government stakeholders and development partners working in Manicaland province which include Victim Friendly Unit, PLAN International, Justice for Children, Women’s Coalition in Zimbabwe, Students and Youth Working sexual reproductive Health Action Team, Simukai Child Protection Programme, Family Support Trust, Childline Zimbabwe, Population Services International and the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council who converged at Mutare Queens Hall for the belated celebrations.

The event which ran under the global theme “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world,” aimed at amplifying calls for the empowerment of women and girls to realise their full potential. A total of 62 AGYW were reached with Psycho-social support, sexual reproductive health, legal, HIV testing, family planning and Pre- Exposure Prophylaxis services in Dangamvura, Chikanga and Sakubva suburbs of Mutare Urban.
