| The FACT BOARD:
FACT is governed by a Board of Trustees, which comprise Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Expert Advisors and Deputies/Assistants. The Board of Trustees serve as the Advisory Board of the organisation as well. It is the supreme board to which the organisation through the Executive Director accounts. The Board provides technical guidance and advice on staffing, programmes, financial issues and long term plans.
FACT has a governance policy that is informed by FACT’s Deed of Trust, which is the organisation’s binding legal document, as well as international governance principles such as OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and King’s 3 report on governance.
FACT employs the Advisory Board Model of NGO governance over the other NGO models namely the Patron model, Co-operative model, Management team model and Policy Board model.

The Executive Director: Dr Vhumani Magezi has over 15 years cumulative experience in HIV & AIDS, development, academic and research. His areas of expertise and interest include project designing, intervention logic, programme evaluation, and projects interfacing church and community.
Over the years, he has worked in various HIV & AIDS and development organisations from which he gained experience that include conceptualising and designing research and community development projects, developing monitoring and evaluation systems, research on poverty and HIV and AIDS, and role of faith based organisations (FBO) in mitigating the impact of HIV & AIDS.
Dr Magezi joined FACT in January 2010 as Programmes Director and later appointed Deputy Director in August 2010 before being elevated to the position of Executive Director in April 2011. |
Dr Magezi joined FACT in January 2010 as Programmes Director and later appointed Deputy Director in August 2010 before being elevated to the position of Executive Director in April 2011. His previous roles prior to joining FACT include Research Manager for a Development and HIV & AIDS NGO, Regional Mentor and Trainer for a continental (African) training and mentoring organization, Dean and Director of Postgraduate Studies and Lecturer of Theological Colleges and Consultant. Dr Magezi has conducted extensive research on HIV & AIDS and development, and has authored many reports that are available in grey literature while others have been published in academic journals. His publications in academic journals focus on HIV & AIDS, poverty, community development and participation, and practical theological issues facing FBOs and communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Chief Executive Officer of the Organisation, Partner Liaison, Overall leadership and organisational accountability.

3. Fundraising/Resource Mobilisation, Management and Partner Management;
4. Programme designing and quality implementation;
5. Appropriate human resource identification, recruiting and development; and
6. Liaising and supporting the Board of Directors. |

The Deputy Director: Gertrude ShumbaGertrude Shumba has over 13 years experience in HIV and AIDS and development work. She joined FACT in March 2007 as the Provincial Manager for the National Behaviour Change programme. On 1 April 2011, she was elevated to the position of Deputy Director.
Her area of expertise and interest has been in programme management,community work and facilitating workshop trainings. She has also been involved in resource mobilization, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of programmes.She has done a lot of interation with stakeholders and international donors.

Prior to joining FACT, Gertrude was extensively involved in supervising the livelihood projects of drip irrigation and poultry. She was also involved in supervising projects relating to water and sanitation where boreholes were sunk or rehabilitated and construction of ecological toilets for the mobile and vulnerable population. She managed food aid programmes for vulnerable groups and distribution of non-food aid for displaced people under International the Organization for Migration(IOM). She has worked closely with FBOs, traditional and political leaders who she successfully encouraged to work together, despite their political differences and discuss HIV and AIDS issues freely.
Prior to joining NGOs, Gertrude worked as Principal Lecturer at a teachers' college for 5 years and as the college Coordinator and Counsellor, she was involved in research that focused on HIV and AIDS. She assisted in training peer educators among students using participatory methods and was also involved with designing the HIV and AIDS Policy.
Gertrude has been exposed to a wide range of training both locally and regionally. This includes; brain power training, results based management, advocacy, formulation of policies esp. on HIV and AIDS, mainstreaming of gender and use of the rights based approach.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Peace, Leadership and Governance (MSc. PLG), BA (Africa University), DipEd (GTC/UZ).
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Deputy Director has an operational responsibility to supervise all Managers and staff in all FACT programmes. She networks with donors, NGOs, local stakeholders and resource mobilizes.
Key Performance Areas:
1. Develop,support and supervise staff in programme implementation departments.
2. Develop and ensure efficient implementation of programmes through professional pogramme design
3. Public relations and community involvement and stakeholder management
4. Resource mobilization and ensuring efficient use of donor funds
5. Human resource identification, recruiting and developing them.
Among other responsibilities, Gertrude is a board member for Peace Building and Capacity Development Foundation (PACDEF) and Diocese of Mutare Community Care Programme (DOMCCP). She assists with fundraising and gives technical advice in the day to day running of the organisations. |

Research and Knowledge Management Manager: Pemberai Zambezi has over 12 years of professional experience in the education and development fields. He has had a 4 year stint with the Ministry of Education as a high school teacher. The other remaining years have been spent working in the development sector. Specific focus has been on HIV & AIDS and general community development.
Pemberai has worked both as an implementer and evaluator of various HIV, AIDS and related interventions aimed at uplifting the lives of the affected and infected. During the same period, he has been involved in training and capacity building of individuals and organisations across Eastern and Southern Africa. This has been possible through facilitation of trainings in a wide range of areas. Focus and expertise in training is on gender and HIV, monitoring and evaluation, volunteer management, peer education, community development and psychosocial support.

Currently, Pemberai is engaged in studies with the University of Fort-Hare. His thesis focuses is on the role of NGO interventions in fostering community development. Pemberai has a growing penchant for research and documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purpose of Position: The Research, Knowledge Management & Monitoring and Evaluation has operational responsibilities of developing organisational M&E systems, capturing, researching, documenting and disseminating project and program information. He carries out internal control systems for all FACT projects.
Key Performance Area: The tasks involve:
1. Developing and managing Organisational M&S systems
2. Documenting changes linked to interventions
3. Knowledge generation and application
4. Operations research on ongoing community interventions
5. Intervention compliance checks
6. Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of programmes
7. Provision of M&E technical assistance to the organisation and staff

FACT Nyanga Manager: Daniel Mudzinge
Daniel has over 25 years experience in social work practice, ranging from social case work, community work to management of social services. For over 20 years he has worked in the Department of Social Welfare in Zimbabwe, starting as a Social Welfare Officer, and then rising to District Social Welfare Officer for Makoni and Mutare Districts, and to Provincial Social Welfare Officer for Mashonaland Central Province. His experience includes assessing and approving clients’ application for social safety nets such as public assistance, educational assistance and drought relief aid. As a probation officer for many years, he also specialised in child care and protection issues and promoting children’s rights.

Daniel’s management experience covers recruitment, selection, development and appraisal of programme staff, resource mobilisation for community projects and allocation and control of programme funds. He has also networked and liaised with donors and stakeholders.
Daniel is a member of the Council for Social Workers in Zimbabwe, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Development Education Innovations Southern Africa Trust (DEISAT), a non-profit making organisation registered in Zimbabwe.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Social Work Degree (University of Zimbabwe), Diploma in Social Work (University of Zimbabwe), Certificate in Development Management (Lahore, Pakistan), Certificate in Management and Administration of HIV and AIDS Programmes (Mananga, Swaziland.)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Purpose of Position: The Programme Manager’s responsibility is to manage the Nyanga branch of FACT. His responsibilities contribute to the goals and objectives of FACT by ensuring efficient and effective programme development and implementation.
- Key Performance Areas/Tasks:
1. Programme staff development,
2. support and supervision;
3. Resource mobilisation and monitoring and evaluation of projects;
4. Networking and collaboration with donors, government ministries and local leaders; and
5. Participating in the leadership of FACT as a member of the Management Committee. |

The Finance and Admin Manager: Nyaradzo Morrison Chahuruva is a part qualified accountant with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and has 7 years working experience in audit firms. She did her articles with Baker Tilly Gwatidzo and further worked at Ernst and Young Botswana as audit senior. In these 7 years, Mrs Chahuruva worked on several NGO assignments which included SADC Secretariat (ADB Projects), Pump Aid Zimbabwe and FACT. She brings along vast experience in audit and assurance, financial management and reporting, tendering and staff training.

1. Ensuring donor financial compliance, updating accounting systems and overseeing the enforcement of orgnisational financial controls.

3. Advising the executive director on finance related issues to ensure effective financial management.
