To our valued Partners and friends,
FACT leadership acknowledges that the organisation’s stability and success, to a very large extent, have resulted from a smooth leadership transition of men who have passion and vision for HIV and AIDS and development work. The founder, Dr Foster, was the first Executive Director. He assumed this role from 1988 to August 2000. He was succeeded by Mr Lovemore Magwere, the second Executive Director, who served from September 2000 to August 2001. Mr Magwere was succeeded by Mr Jephias Mundondo, the third director, who served for 10 years from 2001 to March 2011. The current Executive Director, Dr Vhumani Magezi is the fourth director.
Therefore, in view of the potential anxiety and uncertainty that change of leadership brings to an organisation and its partners, FACT leadership carefully thought through an Executive Directorship transition process, which it would like to share with its partners and friends. Because of the success of the transition plan, the FACT Board would like to gladly share it with its partners and friends as an NGO Leadership Change best practice model.
